Michael Klug

The Resolution Institute Michael Klug Award is presented annually by the Resolution Institute Board to someone who has, in the previous 12 months, contributed towards the peaceful resolution of conflict in the best interests of the community.

Michael Klug AM was the Founding Vice-Chair from 1989 to 1995, Chair in 1996 and a Director from 1989–2001. Michael created the name LEADR – Lawyers Engaged in Alternative Dispute Resolution. Michael's well-known view that lawyers should embrace alternative dispute resolution contributed to him being honoured as a Member of the Order of Australia.

About Nomination 

Everard Halbert (2022)

Everard is a dedicated peace maker using primarily restorative practices to bring resolution to any conflict.  He is part of Resolution Institute's Aotearoa New Zealand training team providing guidance and coaching in both the standard mediation and Restorative Justice programme.

Everard receives this award for his contribution to bringing peace to the community through his work with the New Zealand Police and the Te Pae Oranga programme.
