There are no prerequisites for this course.


Course Work...

Please be aware the workshop involves some pre-course learning elements sent out approximately one month prior to the workshop starting.

During the training week, there is approximately 1-2 hours of self-directed learning required during the evening. 

The training week is full-time; we recommend not attempting to be available to other work commitments during the week in order to make the most of the learning opportunity.

We also highly recommend that you consider purchasing "Getting to Yes: Negotiating Agreement Without Giving In" by Roger Fisher and William Ury. This can be bought through Amazon and is a highly regarded reference book.

About our trainers

Anna Quinn

Anna is a distinguished Resolution Institute Fellow, renowned as a top trainer in New Zealand's field of conflict resolution. With over three decades of experience, she excels as a mediator, facilitator, mentor, supervisor, and representative in mediation proceedings. She possesses a profound understanding of various conflict management processes, ranging from restorative justice to facilitation.

Having lectured at Auckland University Law School and trained District and High Court Judges at the Institute of Judicial Studies, Anna's expertise extends throughout Australasia and the Pacific. She is a sought-after conference presenter on topics such as communication, difficult conversations, neuro-competency, and the psychology of conflict.

Anna's passion lies in the Peace Foundation's initiatives in schools and the management of conflict involving the elderly, as demonstrated by her involvement in the Elder Mediator Australasian Network 'EMAN' Committee.

Originally hailing from Central Hawkes Bay, Anna holds Te Mata as her mountain and the Tuki Tuki as her river. Currently residing in Auckland, she takes pride in being a devoted mother to three young men and enjoys exploring the outdoors. In early 2021, Anna embarked on a cycling journey along the Tour of Aotearoa Route, spanning the length of New Zealand from Cape Reinga to Bluff, alongside her husband.  


Sarah Ramsay

Sarah has been practising in the conciliation/complaint resolution space for over 10 years. In 2014, she received the LEADR practitioner award for achievement by an emerging mediator.

As the Regulatory Services Manager at the Real Estate Authority, she is responsible for leading and coaching a team of dispute resolution professionals to deliver high-quality resolution services to consumers and real estate agents.

Sarah is a trainer, coach, and assessor for Resolution Institute and sits on the Resolution Institute Board.

Outside of her mediation work, she is the co-founder of an electric vehicle start-up, a salsa dancer, and a proud mum of a toddler and two adorable SPCA cats.


The course will be led by one or two of these trainers along with our coaching pool of highly experienced mediators.

After graduating from this course, to become accredited, you will need to:

  • Join Resolution Institute as a Professional Member, and
  • Successfully complete Resolution Institute Mediation accreditation assessment

Is assessment part of this course?

An assessment is not part of the workshop. Following completion of this workshop, you can choose to apply to sit the Resolution Institute Mediation Accreditation assessment. If you select the Platinum option, then assessment is included.
