Auckland Dispute Resolution Community Get-together

Our July event features Jill Goldson, one of New Zealand's most prominent experts on families in transition.

Jill will discuss one of the most difficult and harmful phenomena in family law - Resist/Refuse Dynamic  - when a child resists or refuses contact with one parent. Jill will explain how parental conflict creates this dynamic and illustrate the long list of negative outcomes for children who develop it. Jill will outline how child-inclusive practice might minimise the damage and how professionals can identify and assist affected families

Who is this event for?

  • Our community of dispute resolvers, mediators, restorative justice practitioners, lawyers and anyone interested in peace-making. Members and Non-members welcome.

About our trainer

Jill Goldson

Jill Goldson is a highly experienced therapist, FDR mediator, a Fellow and awarded practitioner of the Resolution Institute. She is recognised for her work in Child-Inclusive mediation and the development of the best practice approach and methodology to help separated families.

In addition to Jill's hands-on work with families, she continues to be the go-to expert for the media, academic institutions, professional publications and government agencies, both in NZ and overseas.  Jill updates and refiners her approach to align with the changes in society and family dynamic. Her training on-line and in person has been consistently requested by mediation organisations, MOJ and law seminars. In 2022, she produced an 8-hour online training video for voice of child/child inclusion in FDR mediation, which has been well-received by mediators, lawyers, psychologists and social workers.

Jill is currently completing a highly anticipated book on this subject by the same name to be released this year.
